485 pending, travel to Canada without AP?

我是F1 status, 签证过期， 我知道去加拿大再回美国不需要新的签证

但是突然发现有一个规定是在485 pending期间如果离开美国就算自动放弃了移民申请

我没有申请AP,请问这样的情况也算么？是不是我不能去加拿大了？谢谢
