One of my friends filed I-140(NIW) last September and got approved in August this year.

I filed I/140 and I-485 concurrently last April, and got both cases approved on 10/19/04.

Usually, it takes several more months for concurrently filed I-140 to get approved. However, you can get both cases approved if filed concurrently, overall it takes much less time to get the green card than filing seperately.
