怎样划界？我是谁的？A公司还是B公司的? Date of Employment

Confusion on dates of employment:


H1B transfer from A to B with Receipt Notice date 1/3/2011, Approval Notice date 3/3/2011.


If I didn’t work at all (on unpaid leave) after filing H-1B transfer, but only started to work for B on 4/1/2011, for which period I belonged to A?


If I started to work for B on 1/3/2011 the Receipt Notice day? For which period I belonged to A?


Very challenging questions, but is reality.
