research associate, 听起来比postdoc象永久职位.可是我们系(或者院里)去年新规定,每次延期H1都只出具一年的appointment.是对所有的staff的(包括美国人). 这样一来我是不是就不能填永久职位了?

-It does not matter for I-140. But for I-485, the position has to be "permanent". The definition of permanent job for USCIS/immigration is that this position has no specific term and it can be renewable. So, if your research associate position can be renewed (you has expectation to cntinue your job), your job can be considered "permanent".

再说了,有几个能是永久职位呢?在拿到tenure之前,连associate professor 都不是永久性的.

我该怎么填?

还有推荐人的C.V.每个人都是50页.光是他们的cv都要300页,不好装订啊,真的有必要都弄上吗?

-Two to three pages is enough (not need to including a lot of publication lists). If the recommendation letter has introduction of the reference background, you even do not need to provide the reference C.V.
