This "paroled" is from my first I-485 (2007 application, denied due to failure of I-140 in 2008, but the denial date is later than my status changing back to H1B).

Now I am dealing with the RFE for my new 485 just filed two months ago and after my Canada trip.

Did this paroled affect the applicability of AVR for me?

-Don't think so. Because you have changed your parolee status to H1 status before you traveled to Canada and that means your old expired visa (F1 or H1) on your passport can be extended using AVR rule. So, just reply to the RFE when you went to Canada and when you returned to US using the Visa automatic Revalidation Rule and thus, the CBP officer did not issue a new I-94 to you. At the same time, provide all the cpoies of all visa pages (on passport) and the I-94s including the H1 approval notice with this RFE response even if you have provided them when you filed I-485.

If did, why did the border officer allow me to enter? That time, I did not have any other entry documents except my I94 from my extended H1B approval notice.
