我的前任雇主2008裁员时没有取消我的H-1B (valid till 9/13/2011)

因为是裁员，给了一些福利，象什么辅助找工课程,不注销H-1B,等等，这个H-1B还有用吗？It is still valid. Can I use it to do H-1B transfer? (One of my lawyer said yes)
