what is says is 485 pending doesn't prove you were lawfully admitted to USA --- many people sneak in then get 485 pending or parole, too.

as Master 8 said, Visa + I-94 + I-20/DS1026/H-1I797 etc. I think expired are OK as it ask "admit" not current status (your current status is legal).

why don't just wait 485 in US?
