我和老婆去年结婚，她家在中国有个八竿子打不着的亲戚办亲属移民，她背着我做了担保人，提供了去年她自己的tax return （去年我们file tax return时， status还都是single，今年准备第一次file married jointly),我不清楚这个担保人具体需要承担多少责任，如果我们今年一起file tax return（married jointly)，

我是否有连带责任（虽然我没有在担保表格上签字，我是否会成为连带担保人？）- She takes care of her relative financially, and you take care of her.

明年初我的临时绿卡就要转正了，是否一定要提供married jointly的return？ married seperately的行不行？- required but don't see it gets denied definitely when filing separate

老婆给他人提供担保一事是否对我绿卡转正有影响？ - None as she is financially capable for 2 beneficiaries
