Will filing divorce affect the status of son's GC application in

My friend is GC. Her hu*****and is US citizen. They sponsered GC application for her 28 year old son in China a few years ago. Now all the materials has been processed and transfered to Guangzhou. If she files divorce now, will it change the status  and the process of the application? Thanks
