Does bankrupcy or bad credit affect the green card approval or c

My house situation is a mess, and it's very hard to find a way to keep it, so I am thinking of file for bankrupcy, my PD is current this month, if I file bankrupcy in few month, does that affect the greeen card? or in the future, for the citizenship approval?
