Differences between SSD and SSI

-SSI (Supplemental Security Income) includes different types of benefits and SSD (Social Security Diabled) is one of the SSI benefits.

1. The seven categories of qualified alien:

I have a green card obtained through working. Does it fall into the first category (Lawfully Admitted for Permanent Residence (LAPR) in the U.S)?

-Yes.

2. I was in the US on August 22nd, 1996 and am disabled.

I worked for ten years in the US and currently no income from wages but have a little from investment.

So, should I apply SSD or SSI?

-I think you are qualified. You may go to the court to fight for your interests if necessary.

Thank you very much for your help.
