Because you have got the Wecome letter (equal to I-485 approval notice), you had better get the GC stamp on your passport at the local office, and then work with GC. If the local office does not agree to stamp your passport, just work using EAD until you receive the physical GC. Your H1 is over because your I-485 was approved and why do you still care about it?.
