I am a Canadian citizen, currently residing in Toronto. An American company is sponsoring H1B visa application for me. A premium process request was received by USCIS on 10/7. Today the law firm received the receipt for H-1B petition filed via premium processing from USCIS.
I have questions to consult. Do I have to wait till 10/22 (15 days from 10/7) to know if the application is approved? How soon will the law firm receive formal document if/after USCIS approves my case. I am trying to set a start date with the Company.
During the period of Jan. 2009 to the time my H1B application was submitted for approval, I did not work. There is a gap in my resume. Will it be an issue when USCIS makes a decision? Could it result in a reject of my application?
