Now, I am worry about my actual starting date for my current job was one month late than the starting date on my current TN （I94).

Was that illegal?
-No. It is fine to work for the first TN because your previous employer did not cancel your TN with this employer yet. One person can have multiple TNs at the same time like H1 holder.
