回复：再问 J1 waiver

本人加拿大永居，年底会成为加拿大公民。今天在加拿大美国领事馆申请J1 visa，通过可是两年的居住限制 。我在美国的program是从9月到明年6月。很有可能再延一年。我查了论坛的关于J1 visa waiver的贴子，众说纷纭啊。我的问题：
1）如果没waiver，我到底能不能从 J1 转TN visa
-Yes if you are a Canadian citizen.

2）如果申请waiver，是跟加拿大申请吧？
-Correct because you are the Canadian permanent resident when you get the J1 visa.

什么时间申请最好？得花多长时间？有官方网站可以参考么？
-Ask Canadian Embassy whether your major is subjected to the two year home residence. If no, you do not need to do the J1 waiver. If yes, ask them for the procedure.
