My H1B visa renew is in pending too. My company told me that they will notice immigration on Monday and cancel it （not perm）. So can I wait 30 days or less to look for a job before I file F2? I think immigration will know my status soon.

I sent my resume to some friends yesterday, there might be an opportunity in 2 weeks or more.Of course, it is hard. Can you give me some suggestions? Thanks!!!
-Just wait for a couple of weeks to get the job. USCIS normally takes about one month to process the H1 cancelation after your employer requests by writing (calling request can not be accepted), so you should be Ok to change your status to F2 in a couple of weeks as long as you have this month paycheck stub.
