对不起，我的想法是：J1在这边延期半年签证，然后J1马上回国（但是这边名额保留），J2呆在美国。请问这样J2呆在美国合法吗？
-If the J1 school does not report it to the SEVIS/USCIS that the J1 has given up the program and leaving, the J2 is fine temporarily because USCIS will not find it in a short time. But the law requires that the school has to report it to SEVIS immediately to terminate the J1 status if the J1 leaves and will never come back. If the school does not do that, the school may have big trouble. Of course, if the J1 will come back to US later, J2 has no any problem at all.
