My sister's priority date is current, I am preparing her application now. She lives in China, but her son is studying in UK （the last year for college）, then will go back to China next summer.

My question is if interview is scheduled in a few months, is it depending on county they currently live or is it in China regarding less where you live now ?
-Because your sister's son applys for the immigration visa as his mother's derivative status, he has to come back to China for the visa interview. However, he can re-schedule the interview if he can not come back to China for the interview in time.

Another choice is that he may apply for the visa later anytime by following-to-join after his mother enters US.
