回复：律师不给之前case的copy，有什么办法吗？

07年找了个律师办绿卡，办到I140下来后公司倒闭，现在找了另一家公司重新办换了律师，想跟前面那个律师要之前的case(那时候太懒没要copy),结果他知道我换了律师就故意不给，说是3年前的case已经不知道放到哪里去了，或是shred掉了。
-The lawyer should have given you a copy of the approval notice after he/she got it and you have the right to have the copy. You can tell him/her to give it to you. If he/she lost the document, he/she has to ask USCIS to give him/her a duplicate. You may go to the court to solve this issue if necessary.

请问大家有相关文件说律师要保存几年的case什么的吗（像是IRS对accounting有规定，文件一定要保留5年）？也给大家提个醒，现在无良律师太多了，一定要每办个case都要留copy。谢谢。
