本人Civil Engineer, I-485 pending，有EAD,五个月前被layoff,请问可以自己在美国注册一个公司，接中国的项目吗？
-Yes.

这样对I-485会有影响吗？
-Hard to say. If your self-employment is in the same/similar area as your old one indicated in your I-140, your I-485 may be OK (but depends on the immigration officer personal opinion). Otherwise, your I-485 may be affected.

有哪些注意事项呢？
-You have to convince USCIS you have the ability to pay yourself. The job has to be in the same/similar area as the old one.
