请教PJiang:I485/H-1b延期双重等待期间可否离境 (w/o AP)

目前状况:

H-1b, I-485 was filed together with AP and EAD before the petition for H-1b extention was also filed. Everything is pending. My current employer asked me to go back to China to work for one year, likely before the approval of H-1b extention.

My understanding is that under the following two conditions, I don't have to worry about my I-485 status when I leave from USA: 1) if I have an approved H-1b extention status before my departure, even without AP; 2) if I have an AP in hand before my departure and even if my H-1b extention is not approved yet.

请教Pjiang及各位专家：I485 等待期间还没有拿到AP, H-1b 第一次延期等待期间可否离境? Will my I-485 application be automatically considered abandoned even if my H-1b extention is approved when I am in China and I come back with a new H-1b visa. My school consel said I would be fine. But I want to double check on this issue.
