请问各位:身份转换后,社保卡要不要去换?

刚看了一下社保卡的说明,有这样的话:You should contact us to update your social security number if your name or your status as an alien in the US changes. You will need to file an application for a replacement social security card and provide proof of your identity, and we may request other evidence supporting the change."
比如我,J1到10月就会转成H1B,是不是到十月就需要去社保部门重新申请换社保卡? 不是说这SSN是一人一号,不变的嘛?
