我的情况是I-140 已经批了。现在在申请H-1B renewal。 由于我的H-1B 快过期了， 我担心拿不到receipt 在H-1B 失效之前。我的律师建议我申请H-4来保住身份。
-I do not think you need to file H4. As I said yesterday, even at the worst for your case is that your H1 apprval notice has no I-94, then you just need to go out of US to get the H1 visa to come back.

如果我转身份从H-1B 到H-4, 是否影响到我今后I-485申请？

因为我工作过， 是否我的H-4 申请被拒的几率增加？

如果我的H-1B renewal 被批批准在先，我能cancel我的H-4 申请吗？
-If you ask USCIS to cancel your H4 and they do that for you, there will be a gap in your status between your filing of H4 and your H1 approval and that means your filing of H4 is not helpful at all (equal to you do not filing H4). So, why do you want to file H4?

Another trouble is that if you file H4 and the H4 approval is after your H1 approval, you need to change your status from H4 to H1 again or you needs to go out of US to get an H1 visa.

So, I suggest that you had better just file the H1 petition only. If you can not file your H1 before Jube 7, just use premium processing to get it approved in 15 days. if the approval notice has I-94, you just continue your work without doing nothing. if you do not have I-94 with the H1 approval, you just get an H1 visa an dnothing worried.
If you can file the H1 before June 7, you do not need to use premium processing and just continue your work.

I have seen quite a few cases like yours and they are all OK.
