党员团员一样性质吗

和律师提了一下团员的问题，说我不是党员，感觉律师建议的填写和处理方式和网上看到的党员的处理方式一样，在是否GCD及附属组织成员中要选yes，要附说明信什么的。这样处理对吗？难道只要一个说明信就什么都够了？万一要补什么材料的，我啥文件都找不到了，团证啥的都不知扔哪里去了，那不死定了？求解..谢谢谢谢谢谢了
