Please help for H1B application

My hu*****and is applying H1B visa,and he is using OPT right now. Before this he had been H4 visa for 3 years and F1 for 2 years. My question is his H1B visa will have 6 years time limit as the others, or he will have only 3 years since he was under H4 for 3 years. Thanks.
