Why he not work for 10 years to make 40 points...
If so, he will be qualify for his own retirement when he get the qualify age.
Or he will get half of his wife's retirement if they still married.
Or they divorced, but they had more than 10 years of marriage when he apply for full retirement. If he is 56 now, his full retirement will be around 66 years and 4 months...
