紧急请教皮匠：PERM被拒!

My PERM was recently denied. The reason is that the job description required MD degree. But my attorney mistyped that my highest degree is Master in my ETA 9089 Form ( I actually have MD and MS which were enclosed in my application materials). The immigration officer reasonably believed that the employer was trying to hire an alien who didn't meet the minimal job requirement. Now my attorney found that this is a mistypping and wrote a letter to the immigration officer to explain and correct the error.....
By your office experience, do you think that the immigration officer will accept the correction and withdraw the denial?( assuming there are no further issues).It's a sad story,all is because of the attorney's mistypping. My H1B 6 years will expire by this August.Is there any idea I can reverse the situation?
