Denial 485 for parents

Sorry that I can't input Chinese.

I applied greencard for my parents in the end of Sep and had interview in the eraly Dec. Before I filed the I 130 and 485 applications for them, we went to Alaska cruise and stopped at Canada for a few hours in the early Sep. I applied Canadian visas for my parents and their American visas are multiple entrances. Now we received the denial of form 485。The reason was "you departed the USA without first seeking an advance parol from USCIS."

My questions: 1)my parents visas are mulitple entrances, do they need to apply the advance parols to go to Canada? at that time, they didn't apply greencard yet. 2) if I don't think that it's a fair reason to refuse my parents' 485 applications, how can I appeal for it?
