From the immigration point of view, as long as you have a valid EAD (either OPT or other EAD), you can work for more than one employer at the same time and > 40 hours/week as long as the jobs are related to your study program (if you use OPT EAD). So, what I said is that you have no legal problem to accept the payment from the two schools. The argument betwwen you and school is not related to the immigration law, so you may negotiate with them.
