DO NOT E-FILE if you have a pending I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence Status or Adjust Status, currently at an USCIS office and you are eligible to file the I-765 for advance parole for no additional fee.
-That means you had better not E-file application for EAD if your EAD is based on pending I-485. Because you need to pay the EAD application fee immediately online when you E-file an EAD application, otherwise the e-filed application can not get done/go through in online system. But if you file the EAD (I-485 based) by regular mail, you do not need to pay the fee because the I-485 application fee has covered this EAD/AP fee no matter how many times you apply for it.
