请教过来人关于Postdoc offer的宝贵经验。。。

我现在海外，得到了美国大学的Postdoc的位置。预计按J-1过去。请问学校的有关部门会给我出具什末相关材料办签证？这些材料直接由学校出具,还是经移民局审批后再邮给我呢？包括正式的offer信吗？
学校办理完这类材料，大约需要多长时间？
