Emergency, question about AP, asking Pjiang.

My current AP is valid through Feb 07 2010. But I need to go back china the end of this month or the beginning of next January, for my mother' health issue. I plan to stay china after Chinese New year, so I may come back USA on Feb. 26th 2010.
I have just quitted my job, so I am not a H1b holder, my 485 is based on my hu*****and's EB2.

I am renewing my AP this week, while I doult I will receive it before I leave. Can I hold my current AP back to china, and hold the new AP(my hu*****and will mail it to me)come back US?
