Help:Can you share how long do you recently wait for AP approval

I heard recently the AP approval need longer time to approve. Given the fact that a lot of us went back to China end of the year and a lot of us applied for AP, I just want to know how long you have waited recently for that document. If we don't have AP, what is option my wife and I have to get back to the US? (I have H1B and had transfer one time. My wife has EAD)
