探亲签证问题

My Mom is in the United States with us now and will return to China in the middle of next month. We want my father to apply for B-2 visa next week, so he can come to help us temporally. I am not sure whether my father should mention that my Mom is in the United States. Do anyone know what is the best way to tell visa officer about my mom's presence in the states? Many Thanks!!!
