did you mean your I-485 is aproved or pending?
if I-485 was aproved, your status is already changed to permenet resident and you cannot get TN anymore. You have go to immigration to get info pass. If it is 1-485 pending, you have to have AP to travel abroad and you cannot come back with TN anymore without abandon your I-485. Your only option is working with EAD.
