1）他和孩子可不可以继续呆在美国申请H4？
-Yes, both he and his kid can change their status to H2 based on his wife's h1 status.

2）申请手续麻烦吗？可不可以自己办，不通过律师？
-Easy, DIY. Do not let the lawyer get their money.
