It really doesn't matter

No matter how many nieces you have, you CANNOT dream to be a good aunt while intending to put your 10-year-old niece into a truoble position. It is not right!!!

If you like and have the abilities, try your best to help. If you don't like, DONOT do anything just for a 面子. The decision you chose(as you said) can hurt your little niece, as well as yourself.
