I-485 被RFE, 请教高人要怎么办?

我当初在发I-485的时候，没有说我是党员，可是后来发出去的学校档案中显示我是02年入党的。现在收到notice要求我解释这是怎么回事。我不知道该怎么办，非常着急。_:'(
这个问题是不是很严重呢？我该怎么解释会比较好?
