Thanks 863211, I try to get a new I-94 to extend the expiration date to May 2011 based on my EAD. If I get it, can I stay in USA legally until May 2011 after my I-485 is denied, my I-485 is in danger because of the J-1 waiver.
-The duration of I-94 is useless to AOS, and that means you can stay in U.S. legally as long as your I-485 is pending. If your I-485 is denied, you may need to leave U.S. EAD is just for work and it has nothing to do with your status (useless for your lawful presence). Your EAD expiration date is indicated on the EAD card and you can use it to work before it expires and this is not related to I-94 either. You can only use AP for international travel.
