I-140 denial will not automatically result in the I-485 denial, but USCIS need to make a separate decision on the I-145 denial based on the denied I-140, and you will receive this I-485 denial notice separately later besides the I-140 denial notice. So, before USCIS issue the I-485 denial notice, the I-485 is still considered pending. This is the point.
