To PingJiang and Other Dashi, need help!

My wife and I submitted I-485 back in Sep 2004 (based on her NIW). Hers were approved 2 months ago. Mine is still pending. On USCIS's site, they say that mine is pending at a local office.

I called them up for an update recently, now I am receiving a letter saying that my finger print is expired or clearance never received. Also saying a finger print request will be mailed to me soon.

What is going on? Does it mean that they've never processed my app? This response was different than last one which said that they need more time to process my application.

What should I do? Any help is appreciated!
