I think you shoulb be employeed based procedure.

1. get H1B1
2. get Labor certification
3. you can file I140, I485, AP/EAD at the same time.

When I140 is approved, you are AOS(Adjust of Status). Your can change to similiar job after 180 days of I140 approval.
