Promotion vs same/similar job

I've been waiting for my green card for the past 6 years and my title has changed from manager to senior manager. Now with I-485 pending over 180 days I'm considering applying for a new position with a different employer. The nature of job responsibilities is similar but the title would be VP/Director. Would such title change be considered as different job from the one my application was filed under?
