you need to have at least a bachlor's degree in the RELATED field, (H1B allows 3 years relevant work experience counted toward 1 year of education as alternative to BS/BA, so does EB3-1 skilled workers, but not EB3-2 professional)
As long as your employer can justified that chemistry is a related/alternative filed to this job title/job code, you can be approved.
