F1(OPT) -> H4 how long

My OPT will expire in Mid December, and we are in I140/I485 pending (I140 pending). I am working and will not apply for H1 after OPT expires. My spouse is H1.

Anybody knows how long it will take to do F1->H4? Is it too late now?
If I go back China to apply for H4, is it easy to get the Visa?
Or can I apply for GC EAD? If I get GC EAD, do I still need H4 to keep my legal status?
Also as to the OPT grace period, how long is it and can I use it to stay here legally?
