it depends on your future plan. Where ever you can find a good paying job, that is where you will work and live. Being jobless is bad in US, Canada or China. You are 35+ and still a student, so how do you earn your living? Also, I assume you must have worked several years before your PHD program, maybe you will find opportunity and return to that line of work. Find a job first during your last year in school, and make your plan accordingly.
