I suggest that you find a lawyer and have the lawyer prepare something to try to convince Citi. I don't think that the HR personnel or paralegal at the law firm, who likely is more knowledgeable than you in immigration matter (at least they think so), will believe what you told them and bother to look into the complicated case.
