Questions on H-1B extension

Hi, PJiang,

I have a few questions on my H-1B extension and I hope you can help me.

I am preparing the H-1B extension myself. Since I will continue to work for the same employer, I do not think my company needs to pay the Fraud Prevention and Detection fee ($500) for the H-1B extension. Can you please confirm?

My hu*****and I have filed I-485 application based on my hu*****and employment (EB2). Since he is not sure how long his company can survive under this bad economy and when we can receive the green card, I think it is safer for me to keep my H-1B status. I will include the A# in the I-129 form. Do you think my H-1B extension will have any negative effect on my green card application? Thank you very much and your help is greatly appreciated.
