I received the letter that dennied the I-539 form for my parents'B1/B2 extension.
It was dated March 27, and asked them to depart the States in 30 days. Now it is only 19 days left.
I am thinking of applying Green Card for them (I am citizen), so they can keep staying in the States with us.
My questions are:
1. If I file the application within this 19 days, do I need to pay a penalty for their staying in the States waiting for the green card?
2. If the answer is yes, how much would the penalty be?
3. If I finish filling the green card application after this 30 days limit, would this penalty be higher (if any)?
Thanks in advance for your help!
