EAD renewal 难题，请各位老师帮忙

My initial EAD expired on 8/20/2008, I have never used it though, on 10/5/2008 I applied for EAD renewal just in case I need it, it showed the card approved on 11/7/2008 online, but we did received the card at all, then we called USCIS a few times, finally we received the card on 2/25/2009 with a card valid baetween 1/1/2008 and 1/1/2009, meaning the card has expired when we received it. I thought the renewal card should start from the approval date. Secondly, we should at least get a card with 2 years validity since our I-485 has not met the cut-off date yet. We called USCIS again for this problem, and we were told to file I-765 again, in this case, do we need to pay another $340 for this? what option should we choose? renewal, replacement or new? Please help!!!
